On the occasion of the

7th Textile Research Conference (TRC),

scheduled for 31 October 2026,

the Centre for Research & Innovation in Science, Arts & Technology (CRISAT),

in collaboration with

CENTRO Tex Ltd,

proudly presents the first-ever

Digital Fashion Catwalk Competition (DFCC)

for

fashion and textile students in Bangladesh.

This pioneering initiative aims to celebrate innovation, creativity, and digital transformation in fashion design by providing a platform for emerging designers to showcase their ideas through cutting‑edge digital tools and techniques. The inspiration of this competition comes from the first event of its kind, organised in Manchester by the Digital Fashion Network led by Dr. Sadat Sayem in 2024, as well as the first-ever digital fashion catwalk presented by the CRISAT Digital Fashion Research Group at the 6th Textile Research Conference (TRC) in 2025 (see videos below).

CRISAT has introduced a brand-new digital fashion competition for  the fashion and textile students in Bangladesh.

Registration Deadline: 30 May 2026

​Registration Fee (non-refundable)
•    Route 1: BDT 1250/- for students with basic 3D CAD skills or those who have completed CRISAT Level 1 Digital Fashion Training.
•    Route 2: BDT 2750/- includes a 4-week training program on basic  3D CAD for digital fashion for beginners.

To participate, register by completing the following form:

Eligibility:

  • Must be an undergraduate student (BSc/BA) in fashion, textiles, or a related field, or have completed the course within 6 months prior to registration

Other Benefits of Registration:

This registration fee will also allow you to -

  • participate in the 7th Textile Research Conference (TRC) (including lunch) without further registration fee.

  • attend al least two online training sessions on video editing and 
    portfolio development (for route 1) and a 4-week training on 3D CAD for digital fashion (for route 2 only).

Guideline for Level 1:

  1. Complete your Registration by 30 May 2026

  2. Attend two online sessions on video editing and portfolio making for rout 1 & 2 and an additional 4-week training on 3D CAD for digital fashion for route 2 registrants by June/July 2026

  3. Design a fashion collection for Sprint/Summer 2027 targeting an international market of Bangladesh RMG sector (i.e. Europe, America, Australia, Japan etc.)

  4. Prepare and submit a digital portfolio demonstrating your journey from initial research to first digital collection including customer profile, mood board, concept board, materials, sketches, tech drawings, digital pattern, virtual prototypes and initial animations by end of August 2026

Information on Level 2 (semifinal and final rounds):

  1. Twenty (20) contestants will be shortlisted based on the submitted digital portfolio and will be invited for the semifinal round.  

  2. Give a 5-minute presentation in front of a panel of judges in September 2026 (The judges panel will include University Teachers from different universities in Bangladesh and abroad). The presentation can include max 4 slides and 90 seconds video on digital fashion catwalk.

  3. Ten (10) shortlisted contestants will be invited to present in front of the audiences and judges at 7th Textile Research Conference (TRC) on 31 October 2026 and show their final work of digital fashion catwalk.

 

Awards & Certificates:

  1. Top 3 contestants will be awarded with Trophy, Certificate and Prize Money 

  2. All 20 semifinalists shortlisted from level 1 will be given individual certificate of achievement.
