Call for Papers

The Innovation committee of the Textile & Fashion Innovation Congress (TFIC) is inviting three types of presentations and papers for the oral presentation and publication in the “iLetters”- the open access journal of innovations. 

 

  • Original works - RIP (research in progress) represent the findings from any research work that is in progress but at least 25% complete. The duration of the talk will be 10 minutes and the size of the articles will be maximum 3-A4 pages each.

 

  • Original works - RC (research complete) represent findings from any research work that is at least 75% complete. The duration of the talk will be 15 minutes and the size of the articles will be maximum 4-A4 pages each.

 

  • Review works present a state-of-the-art picture of a theme or sub-theme of any field of study. It could be a 5-year review, 7-year review or a 10-year review of officially published materials or products. The duration of the talk will be 12 minutes and the size of the articles will be maximum 4-A4 pages each.

 

 

TFIC 2021 will cover the following topics, but are not limited to:

 

  1. Textile Innovations

 

  • Fibre Innovation in production, processing and use

  • Yarn Innovation in production, processing and use

  • Fabric Innovation in production, processing and use

  • Textile and Polymer chemistry and processing technology

  • Sustainability, Zero-waste and Social Corporate Responsibility (CSR)

  • Industry 4.0 and digitalisation including CAD/CAM/CAE

  • Business, economics and management

  • Ergonomics, Health & Safety and Production Engineering

  • Technical textiles and industrial applications including composite materials

  • E-textiles, smart textiles and textile circuitry.

  • User comfort, quality assurance and testing, etc.

 

   2. Fashion Innovations

  • Anthropometry, sizing, 3D Body scanning, ergonomics

  • Design, illustration, CAD/CAM, virtual prototyping

  • Fashion promotion, marketing, business, e-tailing

  • Technology, manufacturing, production engineering

  • Sustainability, recycling, reuse, upcycling, Zero-waste

  • Ethical fashion and worker safety

  • Fashion culture, identity, history, geography

  • Fast fashion, slow fashion, circular economy

  • Digital apparel, smart clothing.

 

Abstract submission:

We invite researchers, academics, industry experts, professionals and students to submit 200 words abstract using the submission form by 25th of March.

Abstracts can be submitted through the iCongress submission form linked below.

 

 

All speakers are required to register by paying a fee.

Fees:

  • Registration fee for oral presentation in conference - £41

  • Article processing charge for publication in iLetters - £200 (fully waived for 2021)
